Mobile home parks, recreational vehicle (RV) parks, and recreational camps are establishments that each require an operating permit from the Florida Department of Health.

Any changes or modifications to the park facilities must be approved by the Department. The objective of this program is to minimize the risk of injury and illness in this residential environment, through routine inspections of these parks and camps ensuring the residents’ risks for disease from an environmental origin are minimized.

RV parks must post their site rates and have the current rate schedule filed with the local health department.

Mobile home and RV parks are inspected annually.

The plans for a new park or camp must be drawn to scale and include:

  • Area and dimensions of the tract of land
  • Space number or other designation of the space
  • Location and size of all proposed mobile home, recreational vehicle, or tent spaces
  • Location of roadways
  • Location of any added service buildings.
  • The permit fee is based on the number of spaces your park has.
