Human Trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transporting, providing or obtaining, by any means, a person for labor or services involving forced labor, slavery or servitude in any industry, such as forced or coerced participation in agriculture, prostitution, manufacturing, or other industries or in domestic service or marriage (Freedom Network, based on the federal criminal law definitions of trafficking).

Since 2007, the National Human Trafficking Hotline has received over 168,554 calls and identified over 26,243 potential cases of human trafficking. You can help, report a tip, or request information or training by calling 888-373-7888.
How to Help
Children and adults can be victims of human trafficking. If you see something, say something.
Report Suspicious Activity 855-FLA-SAFE or 9-1-1 in case of emergency
- You can report any information about human trafficking, child trafficking, or child sexual abuse material offenses immediately to St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJSO).
- You can also remain anonymous by reporting the information to Northeast Crime Stoppers at: 1-888-277-TIPS (8477)
- or report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through their tip line at: 1-800-843-5678 or report it to them online at SJSO.org

- Intercept - Operation Lightshine
Operation Light Shine created the Inter-agency Child Exploitation And Persons Trafficking Task Force (INTERCEPT) to provide the resources, staffing, and support required to identify and rescue child victims, apprehend their offenders, and reduce the risk through public education and awareness. The state-of-the-art facilities will bring together law enforcement, NGOs, prosecutors, victim services, and medical professionals in a multi-disciplinary approach to fight the exploitation and trafficking of children.
